CBS under fire over illegal aliens report
May 30, 2008:
Recently, CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric reported on the staggering costs of health care for illegal immigrants, the
bill for which, of course, is entirely footed by the American taxpayer. Now, Mexican groups like La Raza are up in arms over
the report, which they claim promoted "anti-Latino falsehoods" and "demonized" illegal aliens.
Well, I've got news for our cousins from south of the border: anyone that's here in the U.S. illegally deserves demonizing
and immediate deportation (not necessarily in that order). And I'm not going to play the political correctness game and dance
around the issue.
In the report, CBS reporter Byron Pitts talked with a pregnant Mexican woman who underwent an emergency C-section at a south
Texas hospital. This woman did not pay anything for the $4,700 procedure because she qualifies for emergency Medicaid. The
report also pointed out a study estimating that Americans are forced to pay--are you ready for this? --$1.1 billion per year
for illegal immigrants' health care.
Of course, the illegal immigrant groups like La Raza and others had no facts to counter what they called the "anti-Latino
falsehoods" in the CBS report. I guess we have to assume that it's just not fair to point out the negatives about the growing
illegal population in our country.
Here's the most outrageous part: I looked into the Rand Corporation (a non-profit global policy think tank) study that the
CBS report was based on, and La Raza is right--the CBS report was inaccurate. In fact, the report UNDER ESTIMATED the size
of the financial kick-in-the-teeth that the American taxpayer is getting from illegal Mexican immigrants.
According to the statistics that appeared on-screen during the CBS report, the $1.1 billion per year was what taxpayers were
paying for "all undocumented men, women, and children." However, the Rand study said the $1.1 billion tally was the health
care costs ONLY for "non-elderly participants those between 18 and 64."
So the TRUE cost of illegal immigrant health care in this country is likely SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER than the $1.1 billion claimed
in the report. Take, for example, the child born during that emergency C-section mentioned in the CBS report. He or she will
have 17 years of health care (not to mention the cost of postnatal care at the south Texas hospital where she was born) that
won't be factored into Rand's figures.
Bob Knight, director of the Culture and Media Institute, called the CBS report a breath of fresh air, considering that most
media coverage is largely biased heavily in favor of illegal immigrants.
"The mainstream media has pretended that there is no cost or downside to the millions of people coming over the border illegally,"
Knight said. "So these groups are trying to intimidate Couric and her colleagues at the major networks."
Knight rightly points out that America's left-leaning media essentially approves of the massive influx of illegal aliens as
a way to increase the Democratic voter base. According to Knight, liberals think that once illegal aliens are enrolled in
liberal welfare programs and government subsidies, they will eventually become what he calls "a new generation of Democratic
voters."
Which is true enough. But I think it's wrong. Because if these brazen illegals have proven one thing, it's that they care
little for American citizenship. All they want is American rights and jobs. I'm sure they'd happily accept the right to vote,
too but they won't bother to attain citizenship to get it. They believe they're entitled to it. And liberals are not
bothering to disabuse these criminals (yes, CRIMINALS that's what they are) of the notion that they're not deserving
of these privileges. After all, California came close to giving ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS LEGAL DRIVERS LICENSES. I wish I could
believe that this won't happen. But some day, I'm sure it will.
Quite frankly, groups like La Raza make me ill. These people routinely have the gall to march through the streets of American
cities carrying MEXICAN FLAGS while they are demanding the rights and privileges that are afforded only to AMERICAN CITIZENS.
What's more, when protesting the CBS News report, a group similar to La Raza called the Mexican-American Legal Defense and
Education Fund (MALDEF) threatened the network by saying, "If CBS is playing to immigration hawks to boost its sagging ratings,
the network risks being tuned out by the expanding Latino community. Advertisers know that by 2011, Hispanic buying power
will total $1.2 trillion, almost 10 percent of all U.S. purchasing power."
So, ignore the facts or else? Charming. Isn't it nice that people like this have graced our nation with their presence? We
can only hope that someone in our government will seal the borders before it's too late.

William Campbell Douglass II, M.D.

Burmese Refugee Dumping
The International Institute of Connecticut claims on its website, we have assisted over 7000 people each year integrate
into American life. We have paved the way for them to find a place to live, to find employment, to learn English and to generally
improve their lives and be happy and adjusted in their new country. These are for profit organizations engaged in trafficking
human cargo, paid for by the U.S. State Department. They bring over hapless people to Waterbury, dump them in roach invested
apartments, and then abandon them after ninety days to local welfare. What great humanitarians!!
27,000 Hmong refugees have settled Minnesota and they just keep coming from Laos, decades after the Vietnam War.
One Hmong deer hunter shot eight White hunters and killed six of them. This was followed by a white hunter killing a Hmong.
Such are the multicultural pleasantries.
In schools, Hmong children turn up pregnant at the age of thirteen and have their second child in high school. Needless to
say, this is all paid for by the local taxpayers.
Lewiston, Maine has 2,000 Somalis, with about 13,000 in the United States. The problems of the world are dumped on unsuspecting
towns and cities across the United States. Welfare, fights in schools, endless charges of racism, xenophobia, etc.
The Burmese represent a new group the U.S. State Department and the Institute can mine for refugees. A few thousand in Waterbury?
Dont think it is not possible.
Senator Christopher Dodds involvement in this is laughable. He receives an F for his voting record on immigration
and has done everything possible to have unlimited immigration into the United States and amnesty for the illegals already
here.
Rep. Christopher Murphys response, this agency is one of the few outlets that we have for refugee resettlement.
Does Rep. Murphy want more resettlement? Does he want 27,000 Hmong coming to stay, or 27,000 Burmese in the State of Connecticut?
Neither Christopher Dodd nor Christopher Murphy give any thought that these refugees should be returned home.
Their comments lead one to believe they would welcome thousands more. There are seven billion people in the world, most of
which would love to be in the United States to to escape the tyranny in the native country. How many can the U.S.
hold? We may find out.
Refugee laws were set up on the model of European wars where refugees would return to their countries at the end of a war.
What this has turned into is massive air-lift from third world, from every spot on the globe into the United States, from
which the refugees never return.
The best solution to this problem is to return the Burmese, Somalis and Hmong. Pay them off and set them up in their own countries.
They would be better off and so would citizens of the United States.

From thestate.com:
• South Carolinians have endured Graham long enough
A recent Gallup poll gave Congress its lowest approval rating since Gallup began taking the poll: only 18 percent, with 76
percent voicing disapproval.
This will not surprise South Carolinians. After all, we have suffered from the neglect and self-serving antics of Sen. Lindsey
Graham for six years. Graham spent most of his time cozying up to such types as Ted Kennedy and John McCain, not to mention
groups like La Raza. Graham showed little concern for the folks back home, even referring to them as “bigots”
for opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants.
Recently, Mr. Graham stepped up his fawning over John McCain, apparently hoping to get a Cabinet position in a McCain administration,
possibly attorney general. South Carolinians should hope that McCain adds Graham to his Cabinet. That would open the door
for the election of a senator who, unlike Graham, might think the needs of South Carolinians are as important as the advancement
of his career.
Although Graham shows disdain for ordinary S.C. citizens, he bends over backwards to curry favor with well-heeled special-interest
groups and large corporate entities, even those located out of state. Moneyed organizations have shown their appreciation
for Graham’s actions on their behalf by contributing massive sums to his campaign fund.
Because of Graham’s enormous war chest, many candidates are reluctant to run against him. However, former state Republican
National Executive Committeeman Buddy Witherspoon, respected orthodontist from Columbia, has accepted the challenge. He will
face Graham in the June 10 Republican primary. To date, the amount Witherspoon has been able to raise in contributions, mostly
from individuals, is a drop in the bucket compared to the millions donated to Graham by special-interest groups and large
corporations.
But political ads and media hype purchased by campaign funds cannot intrude into the privacy of the voting booth. In the solitude
of the voting booth,we South Carolinians should reflect on Lindsey Graham’s conduct during his first term. I think that
should convince us to dignify Dr. Witherspoon with our vote.

MAY 2, 2008:
I am in Lugoff, SC and I am active with NumbersUSA.com. I have made phone calls and sent many emails to Graham as well as
Spratt. Some days I get several responses from Traitor Graham. As for Spratt he has never once responded to me regarding
anything.
I have spent many hours fighting the battle on illegal immigration. Graham's latest letters are McAmnesty's talking points.
Notice that McAmnesty claims he got the message and that the people want the border secure. Not once does he address the
issue of what he calls border security or what he will do once it is secure.
I am sure that you remember after we shot down his immigration reform bill he tried that line the second time around. Graham
thinks that he can make the "bigots" shut up by claiming he got the message. If anyone believes him I have some swamp land
I will sell them.
I refuse to vote for McAmnesty! I will not vote for a man that spat in the faces of the American People when they spoke.
Honestly I haven't a clue how that idiot became the candidate. I am sure that you noticed how Traitor Graham showed up everywhere
with him.
My husband retired from the Navy in 2005 and we moved here from San Diego, CA. My father was also in the Navy and was stationed
in San Diego where he retired. I lived there for many years. I saw what illegal immigration did to San Diego. We moved
here to get away from it. Now it is spreading like a cancer here as well.
The problem is our politicians not the people. The politicians are corrupt and only listen to the will of the almighty dollar.
They do not have the courage to say "NO!" to big business, the chamber of commerce or lobbyist.
Money is all that talks to them. This is a cheap fix. As the flood of illegal aliens overwhelms us the dollar is almost
worthless. Gas prices are hurting all of us and the cost of food and other necessities such as utilities is cutting into
our budgets.
I cannot understand how the politicians can be so stupid not to be able to comprehend that we can barely get by and yet they
expect us to pay for the cheap illegal labor that they have imported. Not only that they are forcing us to accept Spanish
as though we lived in a Latin country. Graham calls us "bigots" for begging to have our immigration laws enforced. However,
it doesn't occur to Graham that he is a bigot for excluding the hundreds of other languages spoken in this country. How can
America be a melting pot when people do not speak one language obey the law and assimilate?
I am a paralegal and I had immigration law. There are more than enough laws on the books already they are not enforced.
God help us if we bring up the fact that people coming to country are supposed to apply have a sponsor prove they will not
be a burden on the tax payers as well as undergo a health check. I would be burned at the stake if I dared speak of the diseases
alone we are exposed to.
While living in San Diego my friend's son was diagnosed with TB. He was exposed in school. They bussed illegal aliens to
school from across the border. California wonders why it is in debt. When you give social services to masses of illegal
aliens and allow them to take jobs from legitimate businesses, everyone loses.
Our vehicles were hit twice by illegal aliens. Who paid? WE did.
A dear friend of ours was killed by an illegal alien that had been deported on numerous occasions. Who paid? The tax payers!
He had a fellow illegal in his truck that was seriously injured and left paralyzed. The tax payers foot the medical bill.
My friend Todd had custody of his two little girls he was in the Navy and those children were left without a father or a mother.
Two other friends that were in the vehicle with Todd were injured. These were all sailors returning from home from bowling.
I can't tell how many of our friends were victims of crimes perpetrated by illegal aliens--including me.
Oddly enough, people of Mexican descent we knew that were born here or came here legally were furious with illegal aliens.
They felt that they worked hard and their taxes should not support any benefits for law breakers that entered this country
illegally.
The bottom line is that it does not matter how the people feel. Traitor Graham, John McAmnesty and the majority of the Congress
don't give a DAMN! They are never going to have to live in our communities or deal with the problems we face. They just
sit on the hill and see dollar signs from the special interest groups. Quid pro quo and the hell with the American People.
Sadly I feel that we will soon be a third world country. You can't ship our jobs out to foreign countries and import cheap
illegal labor and expect us to survive. Look at the H1-B visas Bill Gates wants. Ironically, most of them are for jobs Americans
CAN do but Bill Gates with his BILLION$ is not willing to pay for American workers.
I have put years into fighting this battle and so have many others. However NO politicians listen. The reality of it is
that politics a joke. Politicians will say anything and do anything to get elected but nothing else gets done.
I would love to see Graham and McAmnesty dumped. Trust me--I have been working on that! Sadly, many people are so gullible
that they will believe his lies when he tells them that he "got their message."
I can't tell you how sick I am that we thought we were getting away from that nightmare when we moved here only to find it
spreading here like a cancer.

04/10/2008:
Budget puzzle is missing a piece:
The Post & Courier reported on April 9 that state revenues are down by $240 million dollars resulting in a $90 million
budget cut in spending for the rest of this fiscal year. Add another $40 million cut from 2007-08 for a total of $130 million
dollars.
Services must be cut, school buses left on sales lots and smart kids will have to do without extra instruction. Research,
education and highway safety will be sacrificed for the poor planning ability of the Finance Committee.
Funds from the 1% (1 cent) 1984 Education Improvement Act sales tax will not be going to schools. We voted for a school
tax and already we are duped and the money is diverted.
If I can do this math, why can't others see that we have spent this money on illegal aliens. The net cost of each illegal
alien in SC is $21,000. (average income $28,000 subtracting $7,000 average contribution to SC/USA economy leaves a deficit).
An often published population figure of 200,000 illegal aliens in South Carolina has been called 'low'.
Conservatively, we do the math and see that illegal aliens cost South Carolinians at least $4,200,000,000. That's 4.2
BILLION a year. This does not include all of the jobs lost by American citizens and the negative impact on our economy.
It is tricky to multiply that many zeros, and difficult to find jobs for the citizens replaced by the conveniently cheap
laborers. The list of those affected includes research institutes, the College of Charleston Science Center and advanced placement
high school students. This sacrifice is dumbing-down our state. We have imported nearly a quarter million non-English speaking,
uneducated and poor foreigners at the expense of our children's safety, higher education and medical research.
Yet working and retired legislators think they deserve a raise? This raise should be voted down because they that allowed
this travesty are not worthy of ANY paycheck OR your votes in June.
If the SC State House does not produce a strong immigration reform bill (S-392) including an E-verify requirement (not
the flawed I-9 program) then I find them guilty of conspiracy to steal from taxpayers and insubordination.
I urge all citizens to register to vote now and to vote on June 10th and in November. Vote out all US Senators, Congressmen,
and SC Legislators who have failed to protect our jobs, children and economy in preference to cheap laborers.
I also suggest we repeal NAFTA and stop padding the pockets of many greedy and unscrupulous people and their 'non-profit
lobbiests'. Nafta has made corporations rich on the backs of slave workers and Americans.

BUSINESSES ARE BETRAYING OUR COUNTRY!
Businesses slam E-Verify provision
By MICHAEL WELLES SHAPIRO
mshapiro@islandpacket.com
Saturday, February 9, 2008
An amendment to the proposed state Senate's immigration bill would require all businesses in South Carolina to use a federal
database to check the immigration status of new hires, a move that's raised the ire of some business groups.
The amendment, pushed by Republican Sens. Larry Martin of Pickens, Jim Ritchie of Spartanburg, and Glenn McConnell of
Charleston, would force businesses to use a Department of Homeland Security verification program.
called "E-Verify" to check the work status of new employees who do not have a state driver's license, identification
card or a green card.
The Senate's previous immigration proposal required only that businesses contracting with state or local governments use
the E-Verify program, which is what the House version calls for. The Senate is expected to vote on its bill next week.
A news release sent out late Friday by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce accused the three senators of working in
the "11th hour ... without the business community's input," and called the amendment an unfair burden on employers.
Business groups across the country have fought attempts by federal and local governments to mandate participation in the
E-Verify program, which current U.S. law makes optional.
The program checks workers' social security numbers against their names to see if they match. Because the program flags
a certain amount of legal workers as illegal, business groups say it's unfair to require businesses to use it.
"E-Verify has a 20 to 25 percent margin of error, so by forcing businesses to participate in a program that isn't
refined and has that sort of error rate, you're creating a burdensome requirement," said Melissa Azallion, a local immigration
lawyer with Nexsen Pruet Adams Kleemeier.
A U.S. Chamber of Commerce report puts E-Verify's error rate at 20 percent. A DHS spokeswoman has been quoted as saying
the program's error rate is 0.3 percent. However, DHS said that 7 percent of the time, it cannot tell whether a worker is
legal or not. In those cases, workers are given 10 days to prove their statuses.
Sen. Martin said the amendment gives employers plenty of options to determine if workers are legal. "What we're
seeing here is you have some businesses that are just vitriolically opposed to this, that simply don't want to follow the
law," Martin said.
If South Carolina mandates that employers use E-Verify, the state could end up in court. A recently passed Arizona law
requiring use of the program is being challenged by the American Civil Liberties Union.
An ACLU news release states that 32 local ordinances requiring its use have been defeated in court, rejected or abandoned.
Martin stressed that the amendment, however, wasn't a make-or-break part of the overall bill.
"I don't want to jeopardize the bill over it, but, given what we know, we think this would be a good thing to go
to conference committee with."
A conference committee of House and Senate members will negotiate the final version of the bill soon.

Subject: Community Feedback on Bluffton Today
Date: Jan 21, 2008 10:16 AM
Bill,
I have been receiving calls from citizens about the Bluffton Today article you wrote on page 7. These citizens have been
negatively impacted by the invasion of the "illegal alien" workforce prevalent in our community and especially in
the construction business. Earlier in the year when I called you about the feedback I was receiving about your company hiring
"illegal" workers on your job site in Bluffton, you got angry. These are the same citizens calling me today.
Each State and local municipalities have an inherent right to regulate their Businesses Licenses. Were you aware of this
right? Apparently not or you would not have written or applied they cannot do anything. The State has a right to protect
our legal citizen's to have decent jobs that are not undermined by businesses who hire illegal workers paying them low wages.
With regards to the Arizona Law, it has successfully been upheld in the Federal Court. This Law addresses all private
businesses but the proposed Senate bill S-392 does not. Since you are a member of the House Judiciary Committee, it is important
that the AZ private employer language be incorporated into the S-392 as an amendment.
I am connected throughout the State with groups including the Taxpayers Associations. They attend Judiciary Committee
meetings on a regular basis updating us on the matter of "illegal aliens". They believe you are protecting American
businesses instead of American workers. I have stood up for you in the past when they critized you. Please prove them wrong.
Add the Arizona wording on private businesses as an Amendment to S-392.
Thank you,
Ebba Gamer, President

Appearing 10/12/07 in The Charleston Post & Courier:
"Immigrant tragedy"
In response to North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey's recent commentary regarding illegal immigrants: I could not disagree
more.
He states illegals are targets for crime because they cannot "properly deposit their money" into banks due to
their illegal status and that "whether the victim (of a crime) was an illegal immigrant or not, the statistics will show
that the crime occurred in North Charleston."
With all due respect, statistics are not the major concern. The survival of our country as we know and love it should
be the primary concern. This is not a federal problem or a local problem. This is an American problem. This is every American's
problem.
Every day, I become more and more a foreigner in my own land. Illegals are negatively impacting all of us on social, economic,
educational and cultural levels. Churches, law enforcement, public officials, employers and private American citizens that
employ or cater to illegals are accelerating the downfall of our country.
America is not just a job site. It is not just an "idea" that does not belong to any one particular group of
people, as Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., would have us believe. America belongs to Americans. It is our home. It makes no more
sense to aid and abet these law breakers coming into our country any more than it would make sense to allow them to pitch
a tent in your back yard.
If you are not outraged by what you see happening, then you are part of the problem. If you are outraged, I would like
to suggest visiting NumbersUSA.com, outragedpatriots.com and americanshavehadenough.com to help fight this tragedy.
